Looking for End of the Year Awards your middle school students will actually enjoy? These End of the Year Awards for Middle school students will build your classroom community and help students practice plotting and connecting points on a coordinate plane! The element of surprise will keep your students engaged as they discover what Award they were nominated for.
Why your Middle Schoolers will love these awards?
A lot of End of the Year awards are just not up to par with middle school students. Many don’t resonate well with teens.
These End of the Year Awards for middle school students are different. They don’t just state what the award is, instead they have the students decode their award by plotting and connecting points on the coordinate plane.
How does the End of the year Awards for Middle school students work?
1. The teacher will fill out the “award student list” and assign each student in his/her class an award. This will link to an award #, that the teacher will present the student with.
2. The Teacher will write the students name on the award and the coordinate pairs sheet ahead of time.
3. During the lesson, the teacher will hand out the blank coordinate graphs with the coordinate points to graph.
4. Students will plot and connect points on their coordinate plane. As they complete the assignment, they will reveal the Award that they were nominated for.
